Description

A delicious layered dessert featuring Swiss roll, mixed berries, and creamy custard, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 large vanilla or strawberry Swiss roll (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cups (300 g) mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • ½ cup (120 g) berry jam or fruit compote
  • 3 cups (750 ml) vanilla custard or pudding
  • 1 ½ cups (360 ml) heavy whipping cream
  • 3 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional Toppings: White chocolate shards, Fresh berries, Colorful sprinkles or toasted almonds

Instructions

  1. Slice the Swiss roll into ½-inch thick rounds and arrange slices upright along the bottom and sides of a large glass trifle bowl.
  2. Spread a layer of jam or compote over the Swiss roll slices and add a layer of fresh mixed berries.
  3. Pour a thick layer of vanilla custard or pudding over the berries and smooth the surface evenly.
  4. In a chilled bowl, beat heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form, then spread or pipe the whipped cream over the custard layer.
  5. Garnish with white chocolate shards, sprinkles, and more fresh berries. Chill for at least 2–3 hours before serving.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh berries.
  • Chilling the trifle allows the flavors to meld beautifully.
