Description
Golden, pan-fried flatbreads stuffed with stretchy melted cheese and herbs. Crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and irresistibly cheesy with every bite!
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil (plus extra for cooking)
- ¾ cup warm water (adjust as needed)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (or mix with cheddar/provolone)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tbsp butter, melted (optional, for extra richness)
- ½ tsp garlic powder (optional, for flavor)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in olive oil and warm water until dough comes together. Knead 5–6 minutes until smooth. Cover and rest for 30 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine shredded cheese, parsley, butter, and garlic powder.
- Divide dough into 4–6 pieces. Roll each into a small circle. Place cheese mixture in the center, fold edges over, and seal. Roll gently into a flat disc.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat with a drizzle of olive oil. Cook each flatbread 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy, with cheese melted inside.
- Slice and enjoy warm, with extra herbs sprinkled on top.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of water in the dough as needed for consistency.
- Feel free to experiment with different cheese combinations for the filling.
- Serve with a side of yogurt or dipping sauce for added flavor.
