- 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter
- 8 oz (225 g) dark or semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
- ½ cup (100 g) brown sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¾ cup (95 g) all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup (25 g) cocoa powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 cup (170 g) chocolate chips (milk or dark)
- ½ cup (120 ml) heavy cream
- 1 tbsp butter
- ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)
- Fresh strawberries
- Chocolate truffles or Ferrero Rocher-style candies
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Line an 8×8-inch (20×20 cm) baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt butter and chocolate together in a saucepan or microwave; stir until smooth.
- Whisk in both sugars, then add eggs and vanilla.
- Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Mix gently until combined.
- Pour into the pan and bake for 25–30 minutes, until set but still fudgy.
- Cool completely, then cut into bite-sized squares.
- Heat heavy cream in a small saucepan until just about to boil.
- Remove from heat and pour over chocolate chips.
- Let sit for 1–2 minutes, then stir until smooth.
- Add butter and vanilla extract; mix until glossy.
- Pour into a serving bowl and keep warm.
- Place the fondue bowl in the center of a large round platter.
- Arrange brownie bites in a ring around it.
- Add fresh strawberries on top or between brownie layers.
- Surround the outer ring with chocolate truffles for extra indulgence.
- Dust lightly with powdered sugar before serving.
