Description

Cookie Monster Cookies are fun, vibrant cookies loaded with chocolate chips and Oreos, perfect for any cookie lover.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (230 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup (150 g) granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup (165 g) brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2¾ cups (345 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cornstarch (for soft centers)
  • Blue gel food coloring (use enough for a vivid Cookie Monster blue)
  • ¾ cup (130 g) white chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup (130 g) semisweet chocolate chips
  • 6 Oreo cookies, coarsely chopped
  • 6 mini chocolate chip cookies (like Chips Ahoy), coarsely chopped
  • Extra Oreo halves and mini cookies for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
  4. Add blue gel food coloring — start with ¼ teaspoon and adjust until the dough is bright blue.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, cornstarch, and salt.
  6. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients just until combined.
  7. Fold in white chocolate chips, semisweet chips, chopped Oreos, and mini cookies.
  8. Scoop dough into large 3-tablespoon-sized balls for bakery-style cookies.
  9. Press extra cookie chunks and Oreo halves on top for decoration.
  10. Chill the dough for 30–60 minutes (important for thickness).
  11. Place chilled dough balls 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets.
  12. Bake for 11–13 minutes, or until edges are set but centers are still soft.
  13. Let cookies cool on the tray for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Chilling the dough is crucial for achieving thick cookies.
  • Adjust the amount of blue food coloring to achieve your desired shade.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container for freshness.
