A comforting and hearty dish combining a flavorful meatloaf layer with creamy mashed potatoes and topped with melted cheddar cheese.

- 1 ½ lb (680 g) ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup BBQ sauce
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 4–5 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
- ¼ cup butter
- ½ cup milk (more if needed)
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Optional: cooked bacon bits or crispy fried onions
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×9-inch (23×23 cm) baking dish.
- In a large skillet, cook the onion and garlic until softened.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 3–4 minutes, then remove from heat.
- Boil potatoes until fork-tender, then mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
- Spread the meat mixture evenly at the bottom of the dish.
- Layer the mashed potatoes on top.
- Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese and optional bacon bits or fried onions.
- Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly with golden edges.
- Garnish with fresh parsley, slice, and enjoy!

- This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
