Description

A rich and creamy seafood lasagna that combines shrimp, scallops, and a luscious cream sauce, perfect for a special occasion or a comforting family meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) shrimp, peeled & deveined, chopped
  • ½ lb (225 g) scallops or crab meat
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups whole milk (warm)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 12 lasagna noodles (oven-ready or boiled)
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella (extra for topping)
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese (extra for topping)
  • Fresh parsley or basil, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic, then shrimp and scallops. Cook 2–3 minutes until just pink. Season with salt, pepper, and parsley. Remove and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter and whisk in flour to make a roux. Slowly whisk in warm milk until smooth and thickened. Stir in heavy cream, Parmesan, mozzarella, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Simmer 3–4 minutes until creamy.
  3. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread a thin layer of cream sauce on the bottom. Layer as follows: Noodles, Ricotta cheese, Seafood mixture, Cream sauce, Mozzarella. Repeat layers until ingredients are used up. Finish with noodles, sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan.
  4. Cover with foil and bake 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  5. Rest 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley or basil.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add more red pepper flakes.
  • Ensure the seafood is fresh for the best flavor.
  • Letting the lasagna rest before slicing helps it hold its shape.
