Ingredients

  • 1 cup (200 g) sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp red food coloring (liquid or gel)
  • ⅓ cup (40 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¾ cup (95 g) all-purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp white vinegar
  • Optional: ½ cup white chocolate chips (or cream cheese drizzle for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, lightly greasing it.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar until glossy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla and red food coloring, whisking until combined.
  3. Sift in cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Gently fold until just combined, then stir in vinegar.
  4. Spread batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 20–25 minutes until edges are set but the center is slightly soft.
  5. Cool completely before cutting into squares. Optionally, drizzle with melted white chocolate or cream cheese glaze.
