Ingredients
Scale
- ½ cup (113 g) unsalted butter, melted & warm
- 1 cup (200 g) sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp red food coloring (liquid or gel)
- ⅓ cup (40 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- ¾ cup (95 g) all-purpose flour
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ tsp white vinegar
- Optional: ½ cup white chocolate chips (or cream cheese drizzle for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, lightly greasing it.
- In a large bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar until glossy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla and red food coloring, whisking until combined.
- Sift in cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Gently fold until just combined, then stir in vinegar.
- Spread batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 20–25 minutes until edges are set but the center is slightly soft.
- Cool completely before cutting into squares. Optionally, drizzle with melted white chocolate or cream cheese glaze.
Notes
- Do not overmix the batter to maintain a fudgy texture.
- For a richer flavor, consider adding white chocolate chips or a cream cheese drizzle on top.
