Description
A delicious and easy-to-make Garlic Butter Steak Pasta Skillet that combines tender steak, pasta, and flavorful vegetables in a rich garlic butter sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz (340 g) rigatoni (or pasta of choice)
- 1 lb (450 g) sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, divided
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced into thin strips
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- Salt & freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- ½ cup beef broth (or pasta water)
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain and set aside.
- Pat steak cubes dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
- Heat 1 tbsp olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear steak in batches (to avoid overcrowding) for about 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add 2 tbsp butter.
- Add garlic, onions, and red bell pepper. Cook until softened and fragrant, about 4–5 minutes. Stir in Italian seasoning.
- Deglaze the skillet with beef broth (or pasta water), scraping up browned bits. Let simmer for 2 minutes.
- Add the drained pasta and toss to coat.
- Return steak cubes (with juices) to the skillet. Toss everything together over low heat until well coated.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley.
- Serve warm with extra Parmesan on top and a sprinkle of parsley.
Notes
- Feel free to substitute the steak with chicken or shrimp for a different protein option.
- For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes when sautéing the vegetables.
- This dish can be made ahead of time and reheated for a quick meal.
