Description
A fun and colorful recipe for making Glitter Pink Candy Apples, perfect for parties and special occasions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6–8 medium Granny Smith apples (washed & dried completely)
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- ½ cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup water
- Pink gel food coloring (a few drops)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (or cotton candy extract for extra fun)
- Edible pink glitter (for finishing)
- 6–8 paper straws or wooden sticks
- Pink candy melts (for drip effect, optional)
- Glittery pink bows
Instructions
- Wash and dry apples very well (any wax or moisture prevents coating from sticking). Insert sticks firmly into the center of each apple. Set aside on a parchment-lined tray.
- In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Cook over medium-high heat until mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage) on a candy thermometer. Remove from heat, stir in food coloring and extract.
- Working quickly, dip each apple into the hot candy mixture, twirling to coat evenly. Let excess drip off, then place on parchment paper to set.
- While still slightly tacky, sprinkle with edible pink glitter (or brush on once hardened with a little edible glue). Melt pink candy melts and drizzle over for the “drip effect.”
- Tie a glittery bow around each stick for a whimsical finish. Let fully harden before serving or wrapping.
Notes
- Ensure apples are completely dry for the candy coating to adhere properly.
- Use a candy thermometer for accurate temperature measurement.
- Experiment with different flavors of extracts for unique variations.
