Description

Ingredients

  • 500 g (1 lb) sausage meat (or good-quality sausages with casings removed)
  • 1 small onion, finely diced (optional)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp thyme (or mixed herbs)
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt (adjust depending on sausage seasoning)
  • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs (optional, for texture)
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional topping)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine sausage meat, onion, garlic, parsley, thyme, paprika, pepper, and breadcrumbs. Mix until evenly blended.
  2. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Roll out puff pastry into a rectangle. Cut into 2 long strips.
  3. Spoon sausage mixture in a log down the center of each strip. Fold pastry over the filling, sealing edges with water.
  4. Flip seam-side down and cut into 6–8 pieces each. Brush tops with egg wash and sprinkle seeds if using.
  5. Place rolls on a lined baking tray. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until puffed and golden brown. Cool slightly before serving.
