- 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping (Cool Whip or homemade whipped cream)
- ¼ cup sliced almonds, toasted (for garnish)
- Extra maraschino cherries, for topping
Instructions
- Cut angel food cake into bite-sized cubes.
- Place half of the cake cubes in the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish (or trifle dish).
- In a mixing bowl, whisk pudding mix with milk until thickened.
- Fold in sour cream until smooth and creamy.
- Spread half of the pudding mixture over the cake cubes.
- Spoon half of the cherry pie filling over the top.
- Repeat layers with remaining cake, pudding, and cherries.
- Spread whipped topping evenly over the top layer.
- Garnish with sliced almonds and maraschino cherries.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight) so flavors meld.
- Cut into squares or scoop to serve.
