Description

A delightful dessert that combines the creaminess of vanilla ice cream with a surprise filling, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 liters vanilla ice cream (slightly softened for spreading)
  • 1 cup fruit jam or caramel sauce (raspberry, strawberry, or salted caramel)
  • ½ cup chopped nuts or crushed cookies (optional, for texture)
  • 2 cups whipped cream (stabilized or sweetened)
  • 1 cup chopped toasted nuts (hazelnuts, almonds, or pecans)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Line a medium-sized round bowl with plastic wrap, leaving extra overhang to unmold later.
  2. Spread softened vanilla ice cream around the inside of the bowl, about 1–1.5 inches thick. Smooth with a spatula. Freeze 1 hour until firm.
  3. Spoon your chosen filling (fruit jam or caramel sauce) into the center. If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts or crushed cookies over the filling.
  4. Cover the top with more vanilla ice cream, sealing the bombe. Smooth the surface and freeze overnight (at least 6–8 hours).
  5. Unmold by inverting the bowl onto a serving plate and peeling off the plastic wrap.
  6. Frost the bombe with whipped cream. Press toasted nuts all over the surface to coat.
  7. Dust lightly with powdered sugar for a finishing touch.
  8. Slice to reveal the hidden molten-style filling inside.

Notes

  • Ensure the ice cream is slightly softened for easier spreading.
  • Feel free to customize the filling based on your preference.
  • For a more decorative touch, use a piping bag to frost the bombe with whipped cream.
