Description
A quick and delicious one-pan meal featuring cheesy beef and bowtie pasta, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz (340 g) bowtie pasta (farfalle)
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups (475 ml) marinara or pasta sauce
- 1 cup (240 ml) beef broth (or water with bouillon)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 2 cups (200 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large deep skillet, cook ground beef with onion over medium heat until browned. Add garlic and cook 1 minute more. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Stir in marinara sauce, beef broth, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Bring mixture to a simmer.
- Stir in uncooked bowtie pasta. Cover and cook 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and sauce thickens. Add a splash more broth if needed.
- Stir in half the mozzarella and all the Parmesan until melted. Sprinkle remaining mozzarella on top. Cover and let cheese melt (or broil for 2–3 min for a bubbly golden finish).
- Garnish with fresh parsley. Scoop into bowls while hot and extra cheesy.
Notes
- For a spicier dish, increase the amount of red pepper flakes.
- Feel free to add vegetables like bell peppers or spinach for extra nutrition.
- This dish can be made ahead and reheated for leftovers.
