Description

A quick and delicious one-pan meal featuring cheesy beef and bowtie pasta, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz (340 g) bowtie pasta (farfalle)
  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups (475 ml) marinara or pasta sauce
  • 1 cup (240 ml) beef broth (or water with bouillon)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 2 cups (200 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large deep skillet, cook ground beef with onion over medium heat until browned. Add garlic and cook 1 minute more. Drain excess fat if needed.
  2. Stir in marinara sauce, beef broth, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Bring mixture to a simmer.
  3. Stir in uncooked bowtie pasta. Cover and cook 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and sauce thickens. Add a splash more broth if needed.
  4. Stir in half the mozzarella and all the Parmesan until melted. Sprinkle remaining mozzarella on top. Cover and let cheese melt (or broil for 2–3 min for a bubbly golden finish).
  5. Garnish with fresh parsley. Scoop into bowls while hot and extra cheesy.

Notes

  • For a spicier dish, increase the amount of red pepper flakes.
  • Feel free to add vegetables like bell peppers or spinach for extra nutrition.
  • This dish can be made ahead and reheated for leftovers.
