Description

A simple and delicious recipe for oven roasted cabbage steaks, perfect as a side dish or a light vegetarian main.


Ingredients

  • 1 large green cabbage
  • 3 tbsp olive oil (or melted butter)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (or 1 tsp garlic powder)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice cabbage into thick 1-inch steaks (cutting through the core to keep them intact).
  3. Place cabbage steaks on baking sheet.
  4. Brush generously with olive oil or butter.
  5. Sprinkle with garlic, paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  6. Roast in preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until edges are crispy and golden brown.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley.
  8. Serve hot as a side dish or a light vegetarian main.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
