Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups (475 ml) marinara or pizza sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 15 oz (425 g) ricotta cheese (or cottage cheese)
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 912 cooked lasagna noodles
  • 3 cups (340 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup (50 g) cheddar cheese (optional, for extra melt)
  • 1 ½ cups (150 g) sliced pepperoni
  • ½ cup (75 g) diced ham (optional, for extra pizza flavor)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion until browned.
  2. Add garlic, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, combine ricotta, egg, Parmesan, and oregano until smooth.
  4. Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  5. Layer noodles, ricotta mixture, meat sauce, mozzarella, and a few slices of pepperoni.
  6. Repeat layers until noodles are used.
  7. Finish with a top layer of sauce, mozzarella, cheddar (if using), and plenty of pepperoni slices.
  8. Cover with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes.
  9. Remove foil and bake another 15–20 minutes until cheese is bubbling and golden.
  10. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, omit the ground beef and use additional vegetables.
  • Feel free to customize the toppings with your favorite pizza ingredients.
  • Letting the lasagna rest before slicing helps it hold its shape better.
