- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups (475 ml) marinara or pizza sauce
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- 15 oz (425 g) ricotta cheese (or cottage cheese)
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 9–12 cooked lasagna noodles
- 3 cups (340 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup (50 g) cheddar cheese (optional, for extra melt)
- 1 ½ cups (150 g) sliced pepperoni
- ½ cup (75 g) diced ham (optional, for extra pizza flavor)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion until browned.
- Add garlic, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine ricotta, egg, Parmesan, and oregano until smooth.
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Layer noodles, ricotta mixture, meat sauce, mozzarella, and a few slices of pepperoni.
- Repeat layers until noodles are used.
- Finish with a top layer of sauce, mozzarella, cheddar (if using), and plenty of pepperoni slices.
- Cover with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake another 15–20 minutes until cheese is bubbling and golden.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, omit the ground beef and use additional vegetables.
- Feel free to customize the toppings with your favorite pizza ingredients.
- Letting the lasagna rest before slicing helps it hold its shape better.
