Description
Moist, fudgy red velvet cake crumbs mixed with cream cheese frosting, dipped in white chocolate, and decorated with red sprinkles—bite-sized indulgence!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box red velvet cake mix (plus eggs, oil, and water per package instructions)
- 1 cup cream cheese frosting (store-bought or homemade)
- 12 oz white chocolate (melting wafers or almond bark)
- 1 tbsp coconut oil or shortening (optional, for smoother coating)
- Red velvet cake crumbs (from trimmed cake edges)
- Red candy melts or gel for drizzling
Instructions
- Bake the Cake: Bake red velvet cake according to package or recipe directions. Let it cool completely.
- Make the Cake Pop Mixture: Crumble cooled cake into fine crumbs in a large bowl. Mix in cream cheese frosting gradually until mixture holds together when pressed.
- Form the Balls: Scoop mixture and roll into 1-inch balls. Place on a parchment-lined tray. Chill in fridge for 1–2 hours, or freeze for 30 minutes to firm up.
- Coat in Chocolate: Melt white chocolate with coconut oil (if using) until smooth. Dip each cake ball into chocolate, coating completely. Place on parchment paper or mini cupcake liners.
- Decorate: Drizzle with melted red candy melts. Sprinkle with reserved red velvet crumbs.
Notes
- Ensure the cake is completely cooled before crumbling to avoid a soggy mixture.
- For a richer flavor, use homemade cream cheese frosting.
- Experiment with different decorations for various occasions.
