- 150 g cream cheese (softened)
- 100 g sharp cheddar (or Gruyère), shredded
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- ½ cup red pepper jelly (store-bought or homemade)
- Fresh herbs (rosemary or thyme) for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.
- Use a star-shaped cookie cutter to cut out stars (reroll scraps if necessary).
- Mix cream cheese and shredded cheddar until smooth.
- Place half of the pastry stars on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Add 1 tsp of cheese mixture in the center of each.
- Top with another star, pressing edges lightly to seal.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes, until puffed and golden brown.
- Let cool slightly, then top each star with a small spoonful of red pepper jelly.
- Garnish with a tiny sprig of rosemary or thyme for a festive touch.
