Description

A classic layered dessert with a sweet and salty pretzel crust, creamy cheesecake-like filling, and a fresh strawberry topping. Perfect for summer gatherings, potlucks, or holidays.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 8 oz (225 g) whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 package (3 oz) strawberry gelatin (Jell-O)
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • ½ cup cold water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix crushed pretzels, melted butter, and sugar together.
  3. Press firmly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. Bake for 8–10 minutes. Let cool completely.
  5. In a bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
  6. Fold in whipped topping until light and fluffy.
  7. Spread evenly over cooled pretzel crust. Chill in the fridge while preparing topping.
  8. Dissolve gelatin in boiling water, then stir in cold water.
  9. Allow mixture to cool slightly (but not set).
  10. Stir in sliced strawberries.
  11. Pour strawberry mixture over the cream layer.
  12. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until fully set.
  13. Garnish with extra whipped cream and pretzel pieces if desired.
  14. Slice into squares or wedges and enjoy chilled.

Notes

  • Ensure the pretzel crust is completely cooled before adding the cream layer.
  • For best results, let the dessert chill overnight.
  • Can substitute fresh strawberries with other berries if desired.
