Description

Tiramisu Brownies are a delicious fusion of classic brownies and the beloved Italian dessert, tiramisu, featuring a rich brownie base topped with a creamy mascarpone layer.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter
  • 1 ½ cups (300 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (200 g) brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (120 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (100 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup (120 ml) strong brewed coffee (cooled)
  • 250 g (9 oz) mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
  • ½ cup (60 g) powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Line a 9×13 inch (23×33 cm) baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter, then whisk in granulated sugar and brown sugar.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
  4. Sift in flour, cocoa, salt, and baking powder. Mix until just combined.
  5. Stir in cooled coffee for a rich flavor.
  6. Spread batter evenly in pan and bake 30–35 minutes, until set but fudgy. Let cool completely.
  7. In a bowl, beat mascarpone, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  8. In another bowl, whip cream until stiff peaks form.
  9. Gently fold whipped cream into mascarpone mixture.
  10. Spread mascarpone cream evenly over cooled brownies.
  11. Dust generously with cocoa powder.
  12. Refrigerate at least 2 hours before cutting into squares for clean slices.

Notes

  • For best results, use high-quality cocoa powder.
  • Make sure the coffee is cooled before adding it to the batter.
  • Chilling the brownies helps the layers set properly.
