Description
A refreshing and creamy Tropical Bahama Mama Ice Cream recipe without alcohol, perfect for a tropical treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- ¾ cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup crushed pineapple (drained)
- ½ cup orange juice (fresh or bottled, no pulp)
- ½ cup sweetened shredded coconut (toasted, optional)
- ½ cup maraschino cherries, chopped (plus whole cherries for topping)
- Zest of 1 orange (optional, for extra flavor)
Instructions
- Make the Ice Cream Base: In a bowl, whisk heavy cream, milk, sugar, and vanilla until sugar dissolves. Stir in orange juice and zest. Chill mixture in the fridge for at least 2 hours (or overnight) for best flavor.
- Churn the Ice Cream: Pour chilled mixture into an ice cream maker. Churn according to manufacturer’s instructions (about 20–25 minutes). In the last 5 minutes, add pineapple, toasted coconut, and chopped cherries.
- Freeze & Serve: Transfer to a freezer-safe container, cover, and freeze at least 4 hours until scoopable. Scoop into cups, garnish with a cherry on top, and enjoy!
Notes
- For a creamier texture, ensure the ice cream base is well chilled before churning.
- Toasting the coconut adds a nice flavor, but it can be omitted if desired.
- Feel free to adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar based on your preference.
