A delicious Caramel Swirl Dulce de Leche Cake that combines rich flavors and a beautiful presentation, perfect for any occasion.

- 200 g (1 ½ cups) all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 120 g (½ cup) unsalted butter, softened
- 200 g (1 cup) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 120 ml (½ cup) whole milk
- 100 g (½ cup) dulce de leche (for swirling into batter)
- 200 g (7 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 100 g (½ cup) unsalted butter, softened
- 200 g (1 ½ cups) powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 150 g (½ cup) dulce de leche (warmed for drizzling)
- 1–2 tbsp milk or cream (to thin, if needed)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and line a round cake pan (8–9 inches).
- In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
- Mix in dry ingredients alternately with milk.
- Pour half the batter into the pan, add spoonfuls of dulce de leche, swirl lightly, then add remaining batter.
- Bake 30–35 minutes, until golden and a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
- Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth.
- Add powdered sugar and vanilla, mix until fluffy.
- Spread evenly over cooled cake.
- Warm dulce de leche slightly until pourable.
- Drizzle in thin lines over the cream layer.
- Use a toothpick to drag through the lines, creating a spiderweb or swirl pattern.
- Chill cake for 30 minutes to set the topping.
- Slice and serve with extra caramel drizzle if desired.
Notes
- Ensure the cake is completely cooled before adding the cream topping.
- For a richer flavor, use homemade dulce de leche.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
